The 2030 Agenda is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. It also seeks to strengthen universal peace in larger freedom. We recognise that eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including extreme poverty, is the greatest global challenge and an indispensable requirement for sustainable development.
All countries and all stakeholders, acting in collaborative partnership, will implement this plan. We are resolved to free the human race from the tyranny of poverty and want and to heal and secure our planet. It is determined to take the bold and transformative steps which are urgently needed to shift the world onto a sustainable and resilient path. As we embark on this collective journey, we pledge that no one will be left behind. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 targets which we are announcing today demonstrate the scale and ambition of this new universal Agenda. They seek to build on the Millennium Development Goals and complete what these did not achieve. They seek to realize the human rights of all and to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls. They are integrated and indivisible and balance the three dimensions of sustainable development: the economic, social and environmental.
As a part of our CSR efforts, Layer 7 Innovations has partnered with iINVENT NABROS - a US based firm to deploy Sri Lanka CLICS : Sri Lanka’s Center for Learning, Innovation, Creativity and Startups, a platform and program to enable students, parents, businesses, leadership and the public offices of Lanka to work cohesively on sustainable projects. In recent decades, ICT has delivered significant economical and social progress. But, more needs to be done, as its benefits are unevenly distributed and can’t always be fully enforced, to foster sustainable development and drive it forward.
Gamata Technology, an accelerator platform initiated by young tech entrepreneurs covering every corner of Sri Lanka is a nation-wide initiative is chaired by Dr. Ashan Perera, UN SDG Action Award Winner 2018, Youth Advocate, Social Entrepreneur, Founder ofThe Road to Rights Youth-Led Organization and the Chief Strategist and CSR Officer at Layer 7 Innovations.
Gamata Tech is an independent national initiative collaborated with The Road to Rights Youth-led Organization and Mithuru Mithuro Movement. The platform is aimed at supporting technology experts, youth entrepreneurs in rural areas who lack opportunities, within an entrepreneurial environment that encourages collaboration, fosters job creation and provides connections to local and International resources. Digitalization opens up new opportunities to influence and transform various fields in a country such as business models, organizational patterns, legal and policy measures, economical structures and most importantly cultural barriers.
Gamata Technology was launched on October 14th, 2018 at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre with the presence of young entrepreneurs, leading tech companies, renowned personalities and Locals covering 19 Districts over Sri Lanka. The event will be a cultivated Dialogue on Digital Sri Lanka with the participation of erudite speakers of the industry as is targeted to attract over 1000 individuals from all parts of the country.
On the positive light, the Sri Lankan market is very conducive to and very adaptive to new technology. With the revolution of Technology Sri Lankan technological system is starting to gear up with the ongoing tech World. With that eruption many youth from urban to rural have paved their way by using maximum of the modern technology. Gamata Technology will be a debut of such talented entrepreneurs who will showcase their knowledge and talent in technology at the forum.
The platform is projected to provide exposure and advancement to technology to rural areas, so that people can communicate effectively, overcome the limitations of time and space, empower themselves by providing information and knowledge, provide income generating and learning opportunities, increase transparency and efficiency and enable people to express their concerns and to actively participate in decision making processes. Its’ role is important for the development of economy in enhancing the effectiveness of market, productivity, competitiveness as well as creating better quality of life for the public.
We, as a tech company, joined Gamata Technology to contribute to the objectives and goals of this national initiative as part of our CSR arm. We believe in sustainable social impact through responsible business ventures.

The Road to Rights International is a youth led organization established in 2009 in Sri Lanka is the evolution of a childhood dream, to serve humanity from the age of 8, aimed at supporting and empowering young people on creating opportunities, skills development, creativity and innovation by taking a Human rights-basedapproach towards Peace and Development. Human rights education promotes values, beliefs and attitudes that encourage all individuals to uphold their own rights and those of others. It develops an understanding of everyone's common responsibility to make human rights a reality in each community.
The Road to Rights create awareness, and promote advocacy for the communities through community and social development programs. The advocacy is directed to guiding children, youth & women, who he believes; need to understand their rights and responsibilities based on core values, attitudes, and skills, if they wish to play a role in shaping their lives, to serve their communities, and their nations as the next generation of future leaders.
